GRAND TOUR, Bad Gastein, Grand Hotel de l’Europe, 2015
No other building of Bad Gastein symbolizes the ups and downs of it’s extravagant history as perfectly as the famous Grand Hotel de l’Europe. The imposing belle époque estate of early 20th century – that probably inspired Wes Anderson’s movie ‚Grand Budapest Hotel‘ – has played host to glamorous celebrities from around the world, but also faced bankruptcy and lain dormant for decades. A never-ending rise and fall of fortune, fame and tragedy over the course of a century – yet as heart of Bad Gastein focussed by an arising clique of new bohemian visitors that adore this unique hot spot of nature, sports, wellness, art and design.
